Learning a new technology is always a tricky uphill struggle for a professional. They've been stuck in their ways with Windows Forms or ASP.NET and they don't want to start from the beginning again. If you're a beginner to programming it's even harder. Where do you start?
Silverlight is where.
Silverlight is a cross platform Rich Internet Application(RIA) platform by Microsoft. It has all the advantages of the Microsoft .NET platform which is without a doubt, the most mature platform for any OS, and lets you create amazing web too so you don't have to go down the dreaded ASP, CSS, HTML route.
The idea of this site is to allow beginners to the platform and also beginners to programming in general, to start creating amazing web applications in a fun way. I will be developing applications as I write the tutorials so that you can see in real world examples how they go together.
The projects section will show you these projects working. As I say, I will be writing the tutorials as I create the applications and will post the applications as I complete a tutorial, so don't email me saying they're not finished. You can point out bugs though if you come across them.
The news section will cover anything significant happening with the Silverlight platform
The tech rant is my chance to tell people want I think of technology, whether it be the latest Blackberry, Intel chip or Apple conspiracy!
